OCC will be launching a Women’s Lacrosse Program beginning spring of 2020, Ilene Cohen, executive director of Ocean County College Athletics, said.

Women’s lacrosse will be joining OCC’s 13 currently teams competing under the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA)’s Region 19 (D-III) designation.

Sean Menjivar, attacker of the men’s lacrosse team, enjoys seeing the sport get more and more popular. “You love to see something like this,” Menjivar said. “The love and passion for the game is going nowhere but up.”

“I think it’s awesome to see not only our school but other community colleges and universities expand passion for the game of lacrosse,” Hunter Vojtko, defenseman of the men’s team, said. “It’s something I’m beyond proud to call myself a part of.”

Ocean County College will soon begin the process of hiring a coaching staff for the program.
