The Ocean County College cheerleading team hosted their first practice Monday night after the largest tryout turnout in recent history.

The team had tryouts Sept. 20 to Oct. 8 at the Spirit Factory Allstars Cheerleading Gym. The resulting team had a roster of nearly 40 girls. The first practice was packed wall to wall with athletes of all levels of experience.

The week before the practice the team had to quarantine because of covid, but the excitement never stopped, with many girls submitting video tryouts to show their college spirit.

The OCC team is still accepting tryout videos, please contact the OCC Cheerleading Instagram page with any inquiries.
