No. 3 Iowa Defeats No. 4 Penn State in Key Big Ten Showdown

Jacob Serrano

On Saturday, Iowa defeated Penn State on their home turf to remain the top dog in the Big Ten and hold their spot in the final 4.

With a score of 23-20, Iowa held on and closed out the game late in the 4th. With Iowa down by late in the game, QB Spencer Petras rolled right and found WR Nico Ragaini wide open down field for the touchdown.

But how did Iowa hold Penn State to zero 4th quarter points?

Well, Iowa’s defense did have 4INTs in the game, but Penn State’s QB Sean Clifford left the game due to injury. However it was an uneventful day for the Nittany Lions QBs Saturday as Clifford (1 rushing TD) and Ta’Quan Roberson both threw 2INTs and no touchdowns.

Give credit to the Nittany Lions defense as well because Iowa was held to 3 field goals, stalling multiple offensive drives.

All in all the Hawkeyes take down Penn State in a competitive matchup.
