People’s Choice awarded actress Jennifer Aniston the 2019 Icon Award in California, Sunday night.

Aniston has made her mark on the industry through her roles in television and movies over the years.  Her most notable role was as Rachel Green in the NBC sitcom, “Friends.”  Since, Aniston has indulged herself into film, starring in movies such as: “Picture Perfect,” “The Good Girl,” “Just Go with It,” “We’re the Millers,” and most recently “Murder Mystery” on Netflix.

After entering the stage, Aniston expresses how special People’s Choice is because actors do what they do for the audience, and the audience only.

Aniston credits her role on “Friends” for the award, and pokes fun at her haircut becoming a phenomenon, known as “The Rachel.”

“If I have any claim to this word ‘icon,’ it’s only because I was able to be on an iconic show with an iconic cast and an iconic haircut,” Aniston said.

She calls the show a “gift of a lifetime,” giving her all the opportunities she’s had the chance to experience.

She also takes the chance to promote her new Apple TV+ show “The Morning Show.”  “It feels so good also that I get to be back on television where it all really started and I’m so excited,” Aniston said.

Aniston proved her impact on the people this October, when she broke the social media site, Instagram, upon joining.  The site was overloaded with users following the actress’ account and sharing her post of the “Friends” cast.  She became the first person to gain 1 million followers on the platform the fastest at only 5 hours and 16 minutes, Guinness World Records said.
