New Jersey’s drought conditions continue with the southern part of New Jersey in an extreme drought and the rest in a severe drought.
Eight wildfires are currently burning throughout New Jersey including one in Lakewood. The Country Club Wildfire which started Monday has burned 35 acres but is now 50% contained, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service said. No buildings are currently threatened and there have been no evacuations, but Clearstream Road remains closed, the NJFFS said.
Rain is expected the next few days in the northern part of New Jersey, with a chance that the south sees some as well, however it is unlikely that this affects the current drought conditions.
