The NJ Stars Club at OCC will be holding a bake sale on Dec. 10.
The Polar Express themed bake sale will take place at Bartlett Hall from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will feature baked goods, popcorn and hot chocolate.
The group holding the bake sale, the NJ Stars Club, has previously held numerous events around campus, such as a beach sweep at Brick Beach, and a table serving apple cider at Fall Fest.
The NJ Stars Club also held a bake sale in October, which was successful in raising over $170 for the Ashley Lauren Foundation, an independent New Jersey based non-profit organization that fundraises and brings awareness to childhood cancer.
“The goal of our NJ Stars Club is to cultivate friendship and social networking among NJ STARS I students at Ocean County College.” Club President Ashley Chandler said when discussing the goals of the club. “We also raise and enhance awareness and provide information about the NJ STARS II program and the transfer process, while raising money towards an organization each semester.”
In addition to the upcoming winter bake sale, Chandler and the NJ Stars Club are also planning on hosting a Concession Stand Christmas Carol on Dec. 7. at 11:45 a.m. and a Concession Stand Christmas with the Celts on Dec. 20 at 5:45 p.m.
Both events will be featured at the Grunin Center Concession Stand, and will be fundraising for the Ashley Lauren Foundation.
