The New Jersey Devils beat the Panthers 4-1 Tuesday night, snapping their seven game winning streak.
The first of a two game series against the Panthers on the road goes to the Devils, Jack Hughes broke through midway through the first period scoring off of a slick feed from Jesper Bratt. Sam Reinhart of the Panthers tied it up on the powerplay in the second and from there it was all Devils.
Timo Meier scored in the second and Paul Cotter made it 3-1 in the third, with Ondrej Palat netting the game sealing empty netter. Dougie Hamilton and Jesper Bratt each had a pair of assists and Jacob Markstrom played an outstanding game saving 33 of the 34 shots he faced.
The Devils will face the Panthers again on Thursday in Sunrise.
