The Kansas City Chiefs have acquired linebacker and pass rusher Josh Uche from the New England Patriots.
The deal was first reported by CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones. In return, the New England Patriots have received a 2026 sixth-round pick.
Uche, 26, is a former AFC Defensive Player of the Week, and had 78 tackles and 20.5 sacks in his four-year career with New England.
The trade, however, may be more notable for the negative feedback it received from both Patriots fans and NFL fans. Many fans criticized the move in New England’s favor and exclaimed their frustrations with Kansas City’s continuous additions.
Just last week, the Chiefs acquired five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins from the Tennessee Titans, who caught two passes for 29 yards in his Chiefs debut, beating the Las Vegas Raiders 27-20.
Uche will join an already stellar defense, and will look to make a large impact in his debut against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday, Nov. 4.
