OCC will be hosting Clubs for a Cause on April 18 in the student center.
The clubs of OCC have gathered local businesses like JBJ Soul Kitchen to fight against food and housing insecurity. The event is free to attend for all. At 5 p.m. in the student center Clubs from OCC and Local businesses will have tables on the first floor of the student center with different types of food.
This event is to help raise awareness for food and housing insecurity and the resources available to OCC students.
Clubs for a Cause offers much more than food. Guests can expect music, face painting, glitter tattoos and even a scavenger hunt. Guests will be able to purchase mystery gift bags that will contain OCC Helping Hands merchandise, and may contain other prizes such as Squishmallows, t-shirts, and even gift cards from local restaurants. These gift bags can be purchased for five dollars.
Kylie Fitzpatrick, OCC history Club’s president, has been heading the student planning committee gathering clubs together for this event.
“Clubs for a cause really brought together the entire OCC community. It has been so great to see so many people from so many different backgrounds come together and work so hard for such an important cause.” Fitzpatrick said.
