Have you ever wanted to see the museum from the famous movie starring Ben Stiller and more?
OCC Student Life is running a day-long bus trip to the Natural History Museum in New York on Saturday, Dec. 2.
The bus leaves OCC Lot number two at 9 a.m. and drops off guests at Times Square and the Natural History Museum. The bus leaves NYC and goes back to OCC at 6 p.m.
The assistant director of Student Life, Michelle Youngs, who oversees the trip processes, explains that participants are not required to go to the museum. “Students will have all day to go wherever they want in that area and then meet back up at the bus at the designated time provided,” Youngs said. Some guests may go to the public library, and some may even go Christmas shopping.
Tickets for the trip are on sale at the Student Life Box Office. The prices are $15 for students, $20 for faculty and alums, and $30 for guests. Tickets are limited to one per student, but a student can bring up to two guests. An age limit of 18 plus is required. Prices include transportation and a ticket to the museum if one desires to go.
Lunch is not provided. “Students are welcome to bring their own lunch, but will have to carry it with them. There will be plenty of time and places in NYC where lunch can be purchased,” Youngs said.
Why come with OCC to NYC? “The museum has several amazing exhibitions for students to enjoy, including the history of Pacific Northwest Indigenous cultures, a collection of gems and minerals, and even an Insectarium to learn about insects. This trip is a great opportunity for OCC students to visit NYC with other students in an affordable way,” Youngs said.
