The Ocean County College community will commemorate Veterans Day with its annual Salute to Veterans on Thursday, November 9 at 1 p.m. to honor the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
The ceremony will take place at the Veterans Memorial on the College’s main campus in Toms River. The event is open to the public and no registration is required.
The program will feature special guest speaker Captain James B. Howell, Naval Support Activity Lakehurst commander and Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst deputy commander.
Other highlights include:
· Welcome and introductions by Dr. Pamela Monaco, president of Ocean County College.
· Music by the OCC Concert Band.
· Student Speaker Sgt. 1st Andrew Clayton, OC/T Ops Group, Joint Force Headquarters, New Jersey Army National Guard.
· Rifle squad salute by American Legion Post 129, Toms River.
· Sounding of “Taps” by Ross Eadie, OCC Concert Band.
Activities will be held rain or shine.
