Horror Movies at the Theater
Price (AMC): $13.99
Description:
While not exclusive to New Jersey, going to the movie theater and seeing a horror movie is always a good way to celebrate Halloween. This October, the three horror movies that are playing are: “Saw X,” “The Exorcist: Believer,” and “Five Nights at Freddy’s.” “Saw X” is the tenth entry to the Saw franchise and it is proving that the franchise still has a lot of life in it. The movie has received relatively good reviews and has had a box office return of over 78 million dollars on a measly 13 million dollar budget. Next, “The Exorcist: Believer.” A requel — i.e., a film that’s both a reboot and a sequel — of the classic film “The Exorcist,” released in 1973. Last, the long awaited “Five Nights at Freddy’s.” This movie is based on the popular video game series of the same name and it premieres Oct. 27. Fans of the games have been eagerly waiting for this since its pre-production began all the way back in 2015. Now with only two days until its release, we will finally see if the film can live up to the hype.
Toms River Halloween Parade
Location: Main St, Toms River, NJ
Price: Free
Schedule: 10/31
Time: 7pm
Description:
The Toms River Halloween Parade is a huge part of what makes the town special. The tradition started back in 1937 and since then it has evolved into the world’s second-largest Halloween parade, recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records. It is so big in fact, that nearby towns including South Toms River, Pine Beach, and Beachwood all trick or treat on October 30th just so they don’t miss the parade. If you have never gone and experienced the parade before, I highly recommend it because it is the perfect way to end the Halloween season.
