Tech Fest Concert in Brick
March 5, 2020
The tenth annual Tech Fest will be taking place on March 21 at the Brick Presbyterian Church.
Tech Fest is a fundraising concert held by the Ocean County Vocational Technical School’s Performing Arts Academy Tech Club. Advisors Bill Bourke and Zack Slater created the idea for the concert in 2011. The event now has over 60 crew members, which include high school students from PAA and the OCVTS Audio for Electronic Media program.
The money raised from the concert goes towards the “Dennis Bourke Hopes and Dreams Scholarship” which is awarded to one graduating senior from PAA and one graduating senior from the OCVTS Audio for Electronic Media program. The scholarship is used to continue their education in audio, tech, or production programs.
The concert features a variety of local and up-and-coming bands. This year’s lineup includes The Wrecks, Lex, Crashing Waves!, Olivia Bec, Shoobies, and more.
The doors open at 12 p.m. and the bands start performing at 1 p.m. Tickets are sold at the door for $20. For more information and the full lineup visit their website at http://techfestmusic.com.
